Figaro TGS2600 Air Quality Sensor - Detecting Air Contaminants and Gases
Discover the power of precise air quality detection with the Figaro TGS2600, a sensor specifically designed to identify and measure air contaminants such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide, commonly found in cigarette smoke. This sensor is a versatile tool for both electronics engineers and hobbyists, offering high sensitivity and accuracy even at low gas concentrations.
? Technical Specifications
The TGS2600 sensor operates using a metal oxide semiconductor layer, which is formed on an alumina substrate of a sensing chip. This chip also incorporates an integrated heater. When exposed to a detectable gas, the sensor's conductivity increases proportionally to the gas concentration in the air. This change in conductivity can be converted into an output signal, representing the gas concentration, using a simple electrical circuit.Due to the miniaturization of the sensing chip, the TGS2600 requires a heater current of only 42mA. The device is housed in a standard TO-5 package, making it a compact and efficient solution for your electronics projects.
? Key Features
- High sensitivity to low concentrations of gaseous air contaminants
- Ability to detect hydrogen at a level of several parts per million (ppm)
- Low heater current requirement (42mA)
- Compact size with standard TO-5 packaging
